Day 2

                  Lecture notes:

·       1933: Hitler announces his rearmament policy to his military leaders.

·       He keeps it a secret.

·       1935: Hitler no longer bothered to keep rearmament a secret.

·       1936: Conscription introduced

·       1937: Spanish Civil War

·       1938: Hitler took over command of the armed forces

·       1939: War against Britain and France.

·       Germany lost ww2 because they insisted the best of the best.

·       Panzers à strongest tank ever made

·       Germany lost because of their production. They create a high tech one per day while other countries create 10 per day.

·       Hitler’s foreign policy

o   Step 1 (March 1936): German troops enter the Rhineland. Germans only had 30,000. If resistance was met, they were to pullout immediately. No resistance came. Alliances with both Italy and Japan.

o   Step 2 (March 1938): Hitler annexed Austria, sent the German army into Austria unopposed.

o   Step 3 (12 September 1938): Germany takes Sudentenland
